How to Convert JPG and PNG Images to PDF
PDF conversion
Sort out formats before choosing files
JPG to PDF accepts JPG/JPEG images; PNG to PDF accepts PNG images. Each converter can combine multiple files of its own format. Neither current interface accepts a mixed JPG-and-PNG batch.
JPG often suits photographs, while PNG avoids JPG compression artifacts in screenshots and line drawings. Changing a filename's extension does not convert its format. An image that is already blurry will not become sharper simply because it is inside a PDF.
Example: put a PNG diagram between two JPG pages
Use the public practice receipt JPG and practice diagram PNG for a harmless first attempt. You can select the same receipt in separate operations if you need two distinct practice pages; use clearly named copies on your device so that you recognize the order.
- In JPG to PDF, add your two JPG pages and inspect the displayed order. Remove and re-add a file to move it to the end.
- Click Process and download the two-page PDF.
- Convert the PNG diagram separately with PNG to PDF.
- In Merge PDF, add the two-page JPG result first, then the one-page PNG result. The temporary order is JPG A, JPG B, diagram.
- Use Reorder Pages on that result with
1,3,2. The diagram should now be in the middle. - Open the final PDF. Check the count, page order, image edges and small text before sharing.
Those positions describe this three-page example. For a different number of images, work out the current positions rather than copying the range blindly.
Page size is not chosen automatically for printing
These tools use each image's pixel dimensions as the PDF page dimensions in points. A 600-by-800-pixel source creates a 600-by-800-point page. That is not an automatic A4 page, and image groups with different dimensions can produce mixed page sizes.
There is no A4/Letter selector, margin picker or output-DPI field in these converters. If a submission demands a specific paper size, use a layout application with explicit page controls. In a print dialog, check preview and scaling; “fit” can resize a page to the selected paper.
Prepare the source instead of repairing a bad photo later
Crop away the desk or background in an image editor, keep the document flat and check focus before converting. PDF Fix Hub's image converters do not correct perspective, remove shadows or recognize photographed words. A photographed invoice remains image content, not searchable text.
Keep original images when trying a smaller copy. Reducing pixel dimensions can save space but can also erase fine text. Compress PDF offers another comparison; there is no guaranteed size saving.
Common mistakes and troubleshooting
Do not rely on a file picker's apparent selection sequence: inspect the website's list. A transparent PNG may look white in common PDF viewers and on paper; there is no background-style control here. Very large image batches can exceed browser memory, even if the compressed source files look small.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert HEIC or WebP here? These two tools accept the formats named on their pages. Convert unsupported images to a real JPG or PNG first using a suitable image application.
Why is the PDF still not searchable? Image conversion does not add OCR.
Can I keep different page sizes? Yes; the image dimensions determine them. For more preparation choices, read image-to-PDF best practices.
