How to Compress PDF Files for Email and Upload Forms

PDF files usually become large because they contain high-resolution photos or scanned images. Text-only documents are often already small, while image-heavy PDFs may need stronger compression.

If a website has an upload limit, check the limit first. Then compress the PDF and compare the new file size with the original. Keep the original file until you confirm that the compressed version is readable.

For important documents, open the compressed PDF before sending it. Make sure signatures, stamps, and images are still clear enough for the person receiving the file.
